Mickey Thomas started his musical journey on September 18th, 1970. For those of you who don't know the significance of that date, it's the day Jimi Hendrix died. Upon hearing of Jimi's passing, his curious nature got the better of him, so he got a hold of the Smash Hits album, and the next day, he got his first guitar.
Mickey has toured or recorded with some of the greatest R&B legends, but also performed in some of Chicago's best Hard Rock bands, including lead guitarist for "The Inmates", a parody band for radio station WVVX's Scott Loftus. He also served as guitarist for Chicagoland bands Fast Suzi (Founding Member), Echo, And Mischief (Founding Member).
He is now performing as a sideman in Chicago, and has been honored to perform on stages with Big Dog Mercer, Pistol Pete, Toronzo Cannon, Miles Minor, JAAX, Erik Lauren, Tommy McKracken, JB Ritchie, Nick Bell, Jimmy Nick, Holle Thee Maxwell, Tommy Holland, Tom Holland and Doug James.
